We live in Tartu and were planning our first trip to Asia with my wife. There was some confusion with the Vietnamese visa at first – we didn’t know if we had to go to the embassy or if we could get it online. It turned out that an e-visa works just fine.

I filled out the application on a Thursday evening. The passport photos were old, so I took new ones with my phone against a white wall. The confirmation was in my email on Monday. Exactly four days.

There was a long queue at the Ho Chi Minh airport, but it moved quickly. Half an hour and we were out. The hotel was booked in the center of District 1. The first evening, we just walked the streets and watched life go by. The trip went better than we expected.
