My daughter graduated from university, and I promised her a trip together as a gift. We chose Vietnam because the prices were reasonable and the weather was warm in the winter. There are no direct flights from the island to anywhere, so we first traveled to Riga and then onwards from there.

There was a worry about the visas, whether we would both get them. We applied together on the same evening. Three days later, both were approved. I appreciated the speed, as the tickets had already been purchased.

Hoi An’s old town was our favorite. The lanterns reflected in the river, and there was a romantic atmosphere in the evenings. The eateries were good and cheap. A tailor made me a dress in one day. My daughter said she wants to come back.
